MassMopar Flyers!

Postby Sneke_Eyez » Wed May 15, 2013 4:49 pm

Alright, I've been working off and on on several flyer ideas and here are two of them so far:

I think the first one is my favorite...

Either could be scaled to the entirety of a page or it could be printed with the border. I think I like it with the border, and that makes it easier to print, but let me know what you think.

I also have several more in the works, including one other one that is a basic style flyer, but I couldn't resist using this image.
I had it hanging around just because I thought it was cool, and the lightbulb clicked on...

I like an image, but will the PC police be critical of using an attractive female? What if we avoid any controversy and just have some cars? Like the cartoony versions of Mopars from ads in the early 70s?

I also have a bunch of Mopar cartoon graphics. Not sure the artist would be happy if we used them though...

Yeah, I guess avoiding the pc police is a good idea.
My other half told me she thought it was an unnecessarily sexualized image for a car club flyer. I really wasn't going for that, I just thought it was a cool repurpose of a classic advertisement. Oh well, so has sailed.

Like I said, I have another one in the works, so I'll post that one soon.

Alright, over a week later, I managed to finish the one I had been working on, and I'm very happy with it. Hopefully you guys are too.
I went very simple here, its just the 75 years of Mopar logos, displayed almost in chronological order, with some stylistic modifications:

If anyone has a suggestion, please feel free to let me know!

If everyone likes it, I will host a pdf copy for people to print, as well as I will start making my own copies to distribute and send out to members soon.
I might try to come up with some alternative designs as well, but this is what I've got for creative juices for now.

Maybe make that border a little further away from the logos?

And is it worth putting other logos, like Chrysler, AMC, Jeep, Desoto, Plymouth, etc?

I'll move the borders a bit.
I thought sticking with Mopar was good just because there were so many logos.
I didn't want it to get too busy.
I would be willing to add some AMC logos as well though just to make sure we acknowledge our love for the AMC products as well.
I'll keep tinkering with it over the course of the next few days... What I really need is to get my copy of photoshop up and running and not try to do this stuff in Microsoft Word...

Those look nice. Maybe do the Mopar logo and the logos for the other divisions?

Maybe fade the logos so the message pops more and kill the border? To me, borders just shrink your space.

Maybe less words too with a short message? Seems like Mopar is written so many times throughout. Something like:

"Hey, nice Mopar!

Check out MassMopar.net. We're a New England car club dedicated to all things Mopar!"

Just plain, simple, and to the point.

Do we need to include the e-mail address? If you've got e-mail, you've got Internet, right? And we're trying to drive people to the site.

I'll shorten the wording, that's a good plan.
I only included the email address in case people were unfamiliar with the process required to register for a forum. If someone emailed me, I could hold their hand through the registration process.

I'll work on the border and the logos. I only included the border because I thought it looked unfinished otherwise.

I'll keep on working on it, feel free to keep the suggestions coming.
