I hope I don't come off the wrong way but between cards, flyers, and internet search engines...why would the banner even need the web address? :?
Most people that will see the banner already belong to the group. Just my 2¢ ;)

Just thinking if we're trying to drive people to the site, and the logo catches their eyes, it would be good to include on the banner. If I get one made from Rick's guy, I'll include the URL.

Would it be cool to have the logo on a tent and the backs of some of those folding chairs? Maybe now I'm dreaming.

I guess my point was missed. The banner is like a flag we used at organized events (like Rutland State park) and says Mass Mopar right on it. If you put a web address on the flag it will clutter it up.
I could understand if the web address was obscure but I think most can figure out how to type MassMopar in a web search if they weren't fortunate enough to get a card or flyer. ;)

First of all, I want to say a great big THANK YOU to Rick for working with his guy to have a banner made up. So THANK YOU RICK! I really appreciate it!

I figure I'll weigh in here for good measure, since I have some experience with this with LHForums.

I think its a judgment call on whether to put the URL on the banner, but I tend to lean towards having it on there.
There is nothing wrong with a banner without it on there, but we're trying to drive people to the site, and if the indication I got from a night of handing out flyers at the Bass Pro Shops Cruise Night was anything, there are people out there who would see such a banner at a show or something and want to know how to log on to the site and become a part of it. Many people I talked to didn't know MassMopar had ever existed and were excited to see that such a club did exist, and that was why I was glad that I had a flyer to hand to them that gave them the webaddress and had the club name on it.
I think it is kind of similar for a banner, and the thing of it is, even if we use it for display at our own meets and shows, there's no reason that having the URL on the banner would bother us. It might clutter the banner a bit, but I think it could be integrated nicely.

I will say though, that if we make up a banner with the URL on it, it is going to be tough to go back to the .com name.
I know the work to make that change is on my back, and I'm still trying to get it done, but if we made the banner up with MassMopar.net on it, it would be committing to that as a permanent name going forward, in my opinion. Now, that doesn't mean that's what I want to see, or that there wouldn't be something you could do to change a banner later, but I can't see any graceful way it could be done without redoing the banner entirely...

Those are my thoughts.

the way i look at this is if the banner has no web-site on it then we dont have to worry about anything .but if you want then just add a small banner to the bottom of it and leave the big banner just the way it is

Nothing's permanent. I'm sure the shop could engineer something, like a piece of white vinyl, with the .com site, that would be the same size as the .net URL.

Either way, a banner is a good idea.

Figured I'd weigh in on the other banner in question on the forums: The header banner.
I did manage to add the logo image to it, but I'm having some scaling problems with it where it is being shrunk to the size of the old logo. I will keep working on it. For now I thought the scaled back MassMopar logo looked better than the phpBB one.
