Ohhh man. But its in DC... I don't know how I'll make it there to buy the damned thing. Its also about $1500 richer than I'd really like to spend.
I couldn't even make it happen until at least two weeks from tomorrow... :(

That car is awesome! That's the kind of car you need to start out with. In the end it will cost you less because everything is there and it's rust free. It says best offer so I'm sure you could talk him down about 1k or so anyway. You could do that deal in one day, flights into D.C. are cheap.

Yeah, I do think its in very nice shape.
I also agree I'll spend less on that overall since its so nice, but I just don't know whether it'll be worth it to try to make that happen, monetarily or time-wise.

I emailed the guy... He says it definitely needs new tires if I'm going to drive it home and he'll call me in a "little while".

Surprisingly, my father is supporting me buying this car, including offering me the prospect of a loan.
He says he'd rather see me spend my money on this car now than money on my Coronet wagon. No love for my rusty wagon. :(

Dave, you didn't realize I had a disease when I agreed to run this place?! ;)

We'll see. Not counting my chickens before they hatch, but the guy has been pretty cooperative. Its been put on craigslist by the son-in-law of the owner, and the son-in-law is currently in Florida, so when he returns on Thursday he will take a bunch of pictures for me. The owner is supposed to call me today or tomorrow.

There is some slight rust on the car: One small hole on the lower driver's rocker, one small hole on the passenger side quarter, one small hole on the corner of the rear bumper, a bubbled spot at the underside of the driver's fender, and a few bubbles along the bottom of the gate. You can basically see all of it in the pictures if you look closely.

He says the underside of the car including all structural elements are mint, though.

All in all, its certainly a LOT less work than what my wagon needs, so I'm still pursuing it. We'll see once he gets me some pictures, but hopefully I'll be able to use the little bits of rust to talk it down a little bit.

If you get it I may be interested in the rusty wagon - I have the Mopar disease and it seems a bad addiction to rust.
