69 RR Rear Window

Postby TOMRR » Sat Dec 27, 2014 4:51 pm

I am replacing the rear window of my 69 RR with and after market glass .My body guy thinks the glass may be thinner then the original glass. Any one have info on this and if so what thickness of Butal should be used ??

Thanks Tom C

I doubt it's thinner, the factory glass was pretty thin. It should work either way, my glass was actually almost twice as thick and it fit just fine. If your glass guy is any good at what he does he should know how thick the butyl should need to be, if not I would look for a more experienced glazier.

That sounds like what I was thinking (3/16) but I wasn't 100% sure on it. Sounds like everything should work out just fine for you. Best of luck with the rest of the project. Don't be afraid to post a few pics along the way for the rest of us.

I love the b7 color! Looks like you're at the fun stage of trying to find all your parts and put them on
